Standard Electric Supply Expands Industrial Business In Northern Illinois

Nov 5, 2004 12:00 PM

Standard Electric Supply Co., Milwaukee, continued to expand its presence in northern Illinois with the acquisition of Industrial Engineering and Equipment.

Standard Electric Supply first moved into northern Illinois in September 2003 when it acquired DynaTECH.

“One year ago at this time, we acquired DynaTECH and we are very pleased with the progress we have made in the first 12 months of operation,” said Larry Stern, president of Standard Electric Supply.

Hiring several new associates, along with reopening a Rockford office and moving to a new facility located in Wood Dale, Ill., reinforces Standard Electric’s presence in northern Illinois.

“We will combine the Industrial Engineering and DynaTECH operations in our new Wood Dale facility as Standard Electric Supply Co.,” said Stern.

Standard Electric Supply intends to retain all Industrial Engineering employees in the acquisition.

“The combination of Industrial Engineering and DynaTECH’s associates, products, and services truly solidifies our effort to offer the finest automation and control, inventory management and cost reduction solutions for our growing industrial and OEM customer base,” said Stern.

Standard Electric Supply is celebrating its 85th year in business as a third generation family-owned business. As one of the largest 150 electrical distributors in the country, it has nine locations throughout Wisconsin and northern Illinois, with more than 100 associates and annual sales in excess of $43 million.
