May 5, 2014
The partnership of employee-owned DSG and Woodward will further develop DSG’s service area in southern Minnesota, eastern Wisconsin and Iowa, adding nearly 20 employee owners.

Dakota Supply Group (DSG), Fargo, N.D., announced it has acquired Woodruff Co., Rochester, Minn., a distributor of plumbing and heating products in southern Minnesota.

Beyond its Rochester headquarters, Woodruff has locations in Winona and Austin, Minn. Woodruff’s named will change to DSG, but Dakota Supply says it will retain its staff, and in virtually all other ways will continue as usual regarding customers and manufacturers alike.

The partnership of employee-owned DSG and Woodward will further develop DSG’s service area in southern Minnesota, eastern Wisconsin and Iowa, adding nearly 20 employee owners and more than 60 years of successful, respected distribution history to the DSG brand, DSG said in a release.

“Our companies are a natural fit, sharing an intense commitment to the long-term success of our partners, whether they are customers or manufacturers,” says Tom Rosendahl, president of DSG. “Things will not change radically. Instead, customers should look forward to the improvements that come from a powerful synergy like this.”

DSG has been growing quickly and expanding its multi-line coverage, which ranges from electrical, automation, communications and utility equipment to plumbing, HVAC/R and waterworks products. Established in 1898, DSG will now have 30 locations throughout Minnesota, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wisconsin.
