A Korean LED lighting manufacturer plans to build its North American headquarters in Millen, Ga., bringing more than 200 jobs $30 million in investment to the area, according to a press release from the office of Georgia Governor Nathan Deal and reports from a number of Georgia newspapers and business publications.
Electrical Marketing editors couldn't find anything about Wells Lighting in a search of the English-language web, but the announcement from the governor's office describes the company as established in Jeollabuk-do, Korea, in 2008 and specializing in general lighting, industrial lighting, solar street lights and smart lighting control.
“After much consideration, Georgia was the ideal place for us to locate our U.S. operations,” said Wells Lighting, USA CEO and Chairman Dae Woo Kim, quoted in the governor's release. “As the demand for our product continues to grow, we are confident that we can best meet our customers with our U.S. operations in Jenkins County.”
The company will move into an existing 92,000 square foot facility that in addition to headquarters offices will house research and development and manufacturing for a new LED lighting line.
