Rebranding for PEARL

May 4, 2017
The group announced the change at its Electrical Safety, Reliability and Sustainability Conference and will now be called the Professional Electrical Apparatus Reconditioning League.

PEARL, the organization formed 20 years ago to promote more professionalism among dealers of surplus and reconditioned electrical products has launched a rebranding effort to better align its name with the organization’s vision. The group announced the change at its Electrical Safety, Reliability and Sustainability Conference and will now be called the Professional Electrical Apparatus Reconditioning League (the acronym PEARL remains).

Along with the new brand comes a new website and mission statement. “This change from ‘recyclers’ to ‘reconditioning’  more accurately reflects what our members do and connects PEARL’s name with both our reconditioning standard and with the recent inclusion of reconditioned electrical equipment in the 2017 edition of National Electrical Code. However, we also understood the value in maintaining the acronym PEARL, which has grown to become a recognized and trusted name in the industry,” PEARL president Howard Herndon said in a press release.
