DiversityBusiness.com, a business-to-business internet site, named Mayer Electric Supply, Birmingham, Ala., as No. 14 on its list of the 500 largest diversity-owned businesses in the United States. This is the ninth annual listing by the website. Companies listed represent top multicultural and woman-owned companies that challenge the long-held notion that a privately held business is small or insignificant.

Nancy Collat Goedecke, Mayer’s chairman and CEO, said, “We are very pleased to be among the top diversity businesses in America, but we are even more proud that so many of our customers have trusted Mayer as a partner and a supplier to their businesses.” The winning companies were honored last month in Orlando at an awards ceremony as part of the site’s “9th Annual Multicultural Business Conference.”
