In just over year, usage of Trade Service Corp.’s Submittal Manager, a submittal tool for electrical contractors that includes Internet-based software and 350,000-plus catalog pages and technical specifications representing over 1 million electrical items, has jumped from 1,000 submittal packages to 5,000 packages. In a press release announcing the new mark, the San Diego-based company says Submittal Manager cuts the start-to-finish time in half because it leverages a huge library of constantly-updated catalog pages, installation instructions, MSDS and spec sheets. Rather than having to source these documents themselves, users can simply add them straight into their submittal package and do their mark-ups. “The main feedback we receive about Submittal Manager is how much time it saves, not just due to the document library, but also because fewer errors occur, requiring less back and forth,” says Tod Moore, Trade Service’s senior V.P. of sales and marketing.
