August Electrical Price Index Increases 1.2 Percent

Big increases in building wire (+4.9%) and power wire and cable (3.1%) pushed EM’s Electrical Price Index up 1.2 percent in August, the biggest increase in many months. The wire categories also registered double-digit year-to-year increases. No other product areas increased by more than one percent for the month, and residential lighting fixtures (-1%) were the only products down by at least one percent.
