WESCO Signs New Contract with NPP

July 26, 2013
Airgas, Allsteel, John Deere, Staples and W.W. Grainger are some of the other vendors now selling their products through NPP.

National Purchasing Partners (NPP), Seattle, and WESCO International Inc., Pittsburgh, have signed a new contract that offers local government entities access to electrical and other industrial supplies. The improved contract with WESCO, which went into effect April 1, expands the number of products available through NPP to now include electrical, security and data communications, wiring and cabling, and street lighting. A press release on the new NPP/WESCO agreement says that by using a wide range of competitively bid and publicly awarded contracts, agencies can purchase off of existing contracts without going to bid, and that the contracts comply with government procurement requirements.

NPP’s customers include thousands of public entities nationwide such as state, city, county, district, municipal or local governmental agencies, schools and universities, parks and recreation departments and public works departments. In addition to electrical and industrial products, these entities can purchase other supplies for their facilities and grounds such as furniture, lawn care, safety products and playground equipment. Airgas, Allsteel, John Deere, Staples and W.W. Grainger are some of the other vendors now selling their products through NPP.

Molly Deter, NPP’s government national account manager, said in the press release, “We have worked with WESCO for years, and we are extremely happy to have this new contract. The contract and partnership help government entities navigate the waters of public procurement, and will save them money at the same time."
