    The Leading Market Index published monthly by the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) offers insight into the local markets growing fastest when compared to their previous levels of normal building activity before the recession. NAHB uses employment data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, single-family housing data from the U.S. Census Bureau to calculate the LMI each month.
