Construction employment is trudging along steadily toward some sort of respectability, but it’s still miles from its heyday during 2006-2008, according to the most recent Bureau of Labor Statistics data. Data for last month showed that overall construction employment has increased marginally (+0.1%) over Sept. 2011 to approximately 5.77 million workers, but it’s still off approximately 25% from its recent high in 2006, when it topped out at an annual average of 6.97 million workers. ...
