New York owners of multi-family rental and co-ops have an additional source of capital for retrofit projects that will enhance the energy efficiency of their properties. The Green Financing Initiative being managed by the Community Preservation Corp. is a public-private consortium of lenders, pension funds and the state of New York. It’s expected to help building owners retrofit approximately 15,000 housing units over the next three years in low, moderate and middle-income properties.
