Electrical Price Index Drops 0.5% in May

Electrical Marketing’s Price Index dropped 0.5% in May, but is up 4.3% YTY from May 2009. Categories dropping more than 1% were air conditioners (-5.5%) and building wire (-1.7%). The product categories up more than 1% from May 2009 included building wire and cable (18.6%); power wire and cable (25.4%); telephone equipment (6.5%); pole-line hardware (4%) and boxes (4%).
