GE Energy To Buy Three Units Of S.D. Myers And South Africa Company

GE Energy, Atlanta, said it will buy three units of S.D. Myers Inc., which is an Ohio-based transformer service provider, as well as a South African company owned by the Myers family.

GE Energy, Atlanta, said it will buy three units of S.D. Myers Inc., which is an Ohio-based transformer service provider, as well as a South African company owned by the Myers family. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The General Electric Co. unit will buy Ohio Transformer, S.D. Myers Substation Services and S.D. Myers Engineered Transformer Products. GE Energy will also buy Fluidex Engineering, a South African entity owned indirectly by the Myers family that owns S.D. Myers. Fluidex is one of the world’s largest manufacturers and exporters of transformer oil to regeneration plants.
