IEEE to meet on smart grid standards
IEEE announced that it will host the first of a series of meetings aimed at developing communication and interoperability standards for controlling the smart grid next month. Intel Corp. will host the first meeting, open to individuals and organizations interested in shaping the smart grid guide, at its headquarters in Santa Clara, Calif., June 3-5. The meeting is to build on a guide announced by the Piscataway, N.J.-based nonprofit engineering association this week: “The IEEE 2030 Guide for Smart Grid Interoperability of Energy Technology and Information Technology Operation with the Electric Power System (EPS) and End-Use Applications and Loads” (P2030).
