Legrand To Acquire On-Q Technologies

Legrand, West Hartford, Conn., said it would acquire On-Q Technologies Inc., known as On-Q Home, Harrisburg, Pa.

Legrand, West Hartford, Conn., said it would acquire On-Q Technologies Inc., known as On-Q Home, Harrisburg, Pa. On-Q is a major player in the residential structured wiring/home automation market.

On-Q Home and Legrand’s Greyfox business unit will be brought together to form On-Q/Legrand, a provider of solutions for the connected home market. On-Q/Legrand becomes the fifth business group of Legrand in North America.

“On-Q/Legrand, which will be headquartered in Harrisburg, Pa., brings together On-Q Home and Greyfox to deliver unmatched systems solutions, dynamic marketing and product innovations,” said John Selldorff, president and CEO, Legrand North America. “We believe On-Q/Legrand’s breadth of innovative solutions and products and depth of sales and marketing experience is second-to-none in this market.”

Since it was founded in 1999, On-Q Home, a privately-held corporation, has experienced a compound annual growth rate of 25 percent. On-Q Home develops and markets systems for shared broadband internet access, wireless connections, multi-room audio and video distribution, home theaters, and home controls for lighting, heating/cooling and security.

Established in 1994, Greyfox, a business unit of Pass & Seymour/Legrand since 2001, is a pioneer in the networked home market. The company develops products that enable the network of entertainment, security, communications and computer systems within the digital home.
