Solid First-Quarter Sales Reflect Higher Commodity Prices and Increasing Demand
The first-quarter financial statements for publicly held electrical
are encouraging, with several firms registering double-digit increases
in sales and earnings over first-quarter 2003.
Factors at play for the boosted sales performances include
manufacturers and distributors passing the commodity steel and price
increases on to their customers and four additional sales days in
first-quarter 2004 over first-quarter 2003. A sampling of these
forecasts follow.
