Top 25 by Sales Per Employee
As one might expect, specialty distributors dominate the list of the top 25 electrical distributors among the nation’s largest as ranked by sales per employee. For the second consecutive year, Western United Electric Supply Corp., Brighton, Colo., takes the No. 1 slot. With 23 employees and one location, the distributor’s primary market is rural electric co-ops.
The list is based on the companies that provided both a 2002 dollar sales number and an employee count for publication in Electrical Wholesaling’s June 2003 Top 200 listing of the largest electrical distributors. Based on the 139 that furnished both, the average sales per employee came in at $472,167.
