Viking Electric Supply, a subsidiary of Sonepar USA, announced the grand opening of its new Madison, Wis., location, making it the 12th Viking Electric location in the state and 23rd location overall.

The new facility features approximately 20,000 square feet, with a 2,000-square-foot showroom, a 14,000-square-foot fully stocked warehouse and office space as well.

“Although Viking has been calling on contractors in Madison for quite some time, there was an overwhelming feeling that in order to meet all the needs of our customers, we needed to be close and convenient to meet their day-to-day business needs.” said Greg Hames, president of Viking Electric. “Madison is the fourth Viking location to open in Southern Wisconsin in the past two years starting with Milwaukee in January 2006 followed by Kenosha and Delafield. We are committed to the area and the customers we serve,” he said.

The new facility, which opened its doors to the public in late August 2007, already holds an inventory valued at more than $1.5 million, said Brett Wilson, Madison general manager, Viking Electric.
