Cooper Power Systems, Waukesha, Wis., has been selected by We Energies of Milwaukee to expand its demand response programs throughout the electricity provider’s service territory. The expansion includes deployment of Cannon Expresscomm-enabled Honeywell Utility Pro Smart thermostats and load control receivers. The system will be managed by Cooper Power Systems’ Yukon demand response software, which is already in use at We Energies. We Energies serves more than 1.1 million electric customers in Wisconsin and Michigan’s Upper Peninsula and more than 1 million natural gas customers in Wisconsin. The company will begin the expansion immediately to support management of growing peak demand.
