Crescent Electric Supply Co., East Dubuque, IL, announced that it has signed an agreement to purchase Milford, OH-based Mesco Electrical Supply. The move expands Crescent’s presence with two locations in the Cincinnati area and one in New Bremen, OH. Terms of the deal which closed January 1, were not disclosed.

Like Crescent, Mesco is a member of IMARK. Founded in 1981, Mesco has 19 employees serving residential contractors and industrial customers in central and southern Ohio. The company’s three locations (Milford, Cleves/Miamitown and New Bremen) will continue to operate with the same employee team and leadership as before, Crescent said in a release.

“We are thrilled at the opportunity to acquire Mesco, a company that shares our vision and dedication to the industry,” said Marty Burbridge, Crescent Electric president and CEO. “Under Crescent ownership, Mesco will continue to operate with the same employees, leadership team, suppliers and customers. We will leverage our companies’ respective strengths to grow our business in these key markets.”

Crescent has been fairly quiet on the acquisition trail over the past couple of years. It added online wholesaler and retailer Home Products Etc. last summer, including its website www.EliteFixtures.com, as part of a strategic plan for aggressive growth in sales online. Crescent’s most recent geographical acquisitions before Mesco were its purchases in 2013 of Interstate Supply in Idaho and Oregon and Lake Electric Supply in Storm Lake, Iowa.

Crescent is #10 on the 2016 Electrical Wholesaling Top 200 list of the nation’s largest electrical distributors, with sales of $1.06 billion through more than 140 locations.
