EIS Buys Specialty Wire Distributor

Connect-Air is a specialty distributor of low-voltage wire and cable used in critical building applications, primarily HVAC (heating, ventilation and air-conditioning), security and fire alarm systems.

EIS Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of the publicly held Genuine Parts Co., has acquired Connect-Air International Inc., Seattle, from Wincove Capital.

This is the first acquisition by EIS since it bought Insulation and Wires, Oklahoma City, last August. EIS is a distributor of process materials, production supplies, specialty wire and cable and value added fabricated parts for the electrical OEM, apparatus repair and various assembly markets. Its wire and cable brands, Seacoast, Cobra Wire & Cable and Electro Wire, were combined under the Genuine Cable Group in April 2014.

Connect-Air is a specialty distributor of low-voltage wire and cable used in critical building applications, primarily HVAC (heating, ventilation and air-conditioning), security and fire alarm systems. It serves the United States from seven sales offices and warehouses across the country. The company, which has been owned by Wincove Capital since 2008, focuses on building control systems that manage commercial, institutional and multi-family residential buildings.

EIS’ parent company, Genuine Parts, is a distributor of automotive replacement parts in the U.S., Canada, Mexico and Australasia that logged $15.3 billion in 2014 revenues. The company also distributes industrial replacement parts in the U.S., Canada and Mexico through its Motion Industries subsidiary.  S.P. Richards Co., the Office Products Group, distributes business products in the U.S. and Canada.
