Electrical People: Alexandrescu to lead Russelectric as CEO

Also Daley named SVP of sales and marketing at Revolution Lighting, Dreher becomes VP of Appleton Canada, Anderson joins EPCO and much more.

Russelectric (Hingham, Mass.): Dorian Alexandrescu was recently appointed as the company’s new president and CEO.  He has more than 20 years of management experience in electrical equipment, energy management, clean energy, automotive, industrial automation, packaging and consumer goods.  He most recently served as president and CEO of RESA Power Solutions, a market leader in life extension products and services for electric power transmission, distribution, and circuit protection equipment.

Prior to that, he was V.P. and general manager of Eaton Corp./Power Distribution Operations’ Latin America and Caribbean Division. Alexandrescu has an International Baccalaureate in electromechanical engineering, the equivalent of an MS in theoretical physics and technology applications from the University of Bucharest, and is a graduate of the Executive Development Program of Dartmouth College’s Amos Tuck Business School.

Alexandrescu takes over for George Whittaker, who is retiring after 48 years of service.  Whittaker succeeded Raymond G. Russell, Russelectric’s founder and owner.

Founded in 1955, Russelectric Inc. designs and manufactures integrated emergency and standby power control systems for mission critical facilities.  Manufactured at facilities in Hingham Broken Arrow, Okla., the company’s power control systems, transfer switches, and bypass/isolation switches are widely used in advanced data centers, banks, hospitals and other vital installations.

Revolution Lighting Technologies (RVLT) (Stamford, Conn.): Brian L. Daley is now senior vice president of sales and marketing, responsible for overseeing all of Revolution Lighting’s sales and marketing activities, including expansion of its distribution channels and overall strategic direction throughout the company and its divisions. Daley will also provide important insights as the company continues to develop and increase its portfolio of products and solutions addressing the significant short- and long-term growth opportunities in the industry. Daley was previously V.P. Commercial Lighting at Crestron Electronics and before that held sales leadership positions at LSI Industries, Cooper (now Eaton) Lighting, and Lutron Electronics.

Appleton Group/Emerson (Rosemont, Ill.): Dane Dreher has assumed new responsibilities as V.P. of Appleton Canada and will lead day-to-day operations, reporting directing to Appleton Group President Russ Kerstetter. Since joining Emerson in 1996, Dreher has held numerous positions in customer support, manufacturing, and inventory management. In 2007, he was named director of operations for Appleton Group.

He replaces Harish Shinde, who was recently promoted to V.P. of strategy and customer care for Appleton Group’s global operations. Shinde joined Emerson in 2011 as director of planning for commercial industrial solutions. He will also report directly to Kerstetter. In his new role, Shinde will work closely with his team to develop and implement global business strategies for the Appleton, O-Z/Gedney, SolaHD, Nelson and EasyHeat brands.

Prior to working for Emerson, Shinde was with Deloitte Consulting and Trinity Consultants in St. Louis, Mo.  He holds a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from the University of Mumbai, India, and a master’s degree in chemical engineering from the University of Kansas. He also has a MBA from Duke University.

Engineered Products Co. (EPCO), (Minneapolis): Jim Anderson has joined EPCO as executive V.P. and will be responsible for managing the product planning and development. Most recently he was V.P. of engineering for Emerson Electric’s Appleton Group. Prior to holding various leadership positions at Emerson, Anderson was responsible for identifying and supporting growth opportunities at General Motors Corp.

Atlantic Industrial (Tampa, Fla.):  Doug Alderman has joined the Atlantic team as Southeast regional sales manager. He has 20-plus years of experience in the electrical distribution industry as sales manager, electrical and lighting sales professional, lighting designer, educator and consultant. He will manage sales, distribution and end-user activities in the southeastern United States. Atlantic Industrial is a U.S.-owned manufacturer and supplier of electrical EMT, rigid and non-metallic conduit accessories and fittings, bathroom ventilation, lighting fixtures, and other electrical products to the distribution industry.

LSI Lighting Solutions (Cincinnati): Len Costello is now director of national accounts and will be working closely with LSI sales agents and national account distributors to manage and develop the retail national accounts business. He has experience in sales and business Development at Eaton/Cooper and Acuity Brands.

SolarCity (San Mateo, Calif.): Toby Corey was named president of global sales and customer experience. Corey will oversee SolarCity’s sales, marketing and customer service organizations in his new role, and report to CEO Lyndon Rive. Corey was head of the company’s sales and marketing organizations in 2012 and 2013.
