Electrical People: Bednarcik named CEO of Lighting Science Group

Jeff Jolly was hired as V.P. of Crescent Electric Supply's West Region; Lisa Johnson named sales operations manager for Halco; and more.

Lighting Science Group (Satellite Beach, Fla.): Edward Bednarcik has been appointed CEO. He replaces Interim CEO Richard Davis, who will continue to serve as a director on Lighting Science’s board of directors. Bednarcik most recently served as CEO and president at Video IQ, an enterprise software company focused on providing video analytics for “big data” solutions globally, where he positioned the business for growth through revamping the company’s product portfolio and developing key industry partnerships to enable the rapid expansion of the company’s unique video surveillance solutions.

Prior to that Bednarcik was CEO and president of Wright Line LLC, a global supplier of innovative data center solutions for government and commercial customers, from 2007 to 2011. Bednarcik has also served in senior leadership positions at American Power Conversion Corp. and at A123 Systems.

Crescent Electric Supply Co. (East Dubuque, Ill.): Jeff Jolly was hired as V.P. of the company’s West Region, which includes 40 branches in 14 Western and Mountain states. A native of Houston, Jolly brings 20 years of industry experience to the position and will oversee the region’s general management, business planning, sales, and operations. Jolly holds a BA in business from Trinity College and University.

Halco Lighting Technologies (Norcross, Ga.): Lisa Johnson is joining the sales organization in the newly created role of sales operations manager. She has been Halco’s operations manager since 2012. Johnson joined Halco in 1998 as an administrative assistant, and has since been involved with all areas of the company with a focus in purchasing. She will be refining sales processes, driving technology initiatives to improve reporting and sales performance monitoring for the sales organization as well as reviewing the agent on-boarding process. As part of her new role, the Atlanta and Phoenix customer service teams will report directly to her.

AEMC Instruments (Foxborough, Mass.): Mark Gutekunst has been appointed Mid-Atlantic District sales engineer.  He will be responsible for sales covering the mid-Atlantic territory (Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, eastern Pennsylvania, metropolitan New York and Long Island, N.Y.  Gutekunst will be based out of the suburban Philadelphia area and will report directly to George Vlachos, regional sales manager. He has more than 20 years’ technical experience as a sales manager and applications engineer.  He has a BS in electrical engineering. 

Universal Lighting Technologies (Nashville, Tenn.):  Ron Cattelona joins the Universal team as the new regional sales manager for the Mid-Atlantic region. Since graduating from Monmouth University, Cattelona gained experience in the electrical industry as an auditor and lighting design specialist for Facility Solutions Group before migrating to the manufacturer side of operations with EiKo Global.
