Electrical People: Bridgeport promotes Beaches in sales management

Bridgeport Fittings (Stratford, Conn.): Larry Beach, former director of technical sales, has been promoted to region sales director and Wayne Beach has been promoted to director of technical sales from his recent position as technical sales manager.

As region sales director, Larry Beach will be responsible for developing and implementing regional business plans to include an overall growth strategy, annual sales plan and budget. He will also be charged with maintaining and cultivating key customer relationships and implementing company sales strategies for expanding the company’s revenue stream. Larry has worked in the electrical industry since 1980 and has held many positions such as electrician, operations manager, estimator and outside sales. He lives in the Seattle area.

 In his new position as director of technical sales, Wayne will be responsible for training and coordinating with contractors, engineers, architects and end-users to gain position on present and future projects. He is an experienced construction electrician who came to Bridgeport with a 20-year service record with the U.S. Navy Seabees. Wayne lives in the Boston area.

National Lighting Bureau (NLB) (Silver Spring, Md.): James Yorgey, Lutron Electronics Co.’s technical applications manager, has been elected chair of the National Lighting Bureau, the independent, not-for-profit, lighting-education foundation sponsored by professional societies, trade associations, manufacturers, utilities and agencies of the U.S. government. Mark Lien, Osram Sylvania’s government and industry relations director was elected vice chair, and Cary Mendelsohn, Imperial Lighting Maintenance Co. (representing the International Association of Lighting Management Companies (NALMCO), was elected secretary/treasurer.

Yorgey joined Lutron in 1974 and has held numerous positions in the quality control, engineering, marketing and sales departments. In his current role, he supports Lutron’s sales and marketing groups throughout the mid-Atlantic region. He provides technical support for the integration of lighting, lighting controls and window treatments into commercial spaces. A long-time member of NLB’s board of directors, Yorgey has been involved in lighting education at Parsons School of Architecture in New York and the INFOCOMM Institute for Professional Development. He is actively involved in the Illuminating Engineering Society of North America (IES) and a variety of other technical and community organizations.  He has an engineering degree from Penn State.

Fiber Optic Center Inc. (FOC) (New Bedford, Mass.):  This global distributor of fiber-optic components, equipment recently added Dan Rocheleau to its technical team. Rocheleau has worked in fiber assembly production since 1986 and has managed cable assembly production facilities in Mexico, India and China. He was a customer of FOC for 28 years and previously worked for FONS, ADC and TE Connectivity.

Aetna Insulated Wire (Orlando):  This manufacturer of interlocked armored power cable, corrugated welded power cable, tray cable, and medium voltage underground distribution announced its new management team.  Along with new Marmon Energy Group President Greg Smith, John DeGenova is Aetna’s general manager; Jeff Lovett handles marketing; and Kenny Hermoso is the V.P. of sales. The company said in a press release that it would be focusing on new customer service initiatives like FastTrack, a short-lead-time delivery program and utilizing its increased manufacturing capacity. Aetna Insulated Wire is a member of the Marmon Energy Group, a Berkshire Hathaway company.

Designers Lighting Forum (New York): Lighting by Gregory’s chief lighting designer, Clifford Starr, has recently been elected the new Chapter President of the Designers Lighting Forum of New York (DLFNY). Starr’s presidential appointment comes after serving a two-year term as vice president and as a DLFNY board member for five years. He is succeeding Lana Lenar, principal at zeroLUX lighting design.

Starr has more than 30 years of expertise in lighting design and project management in residential, commercial, hospitality and retail applications. He has experience in electrical and engineering and degrees in both hotel and restaurant management.

Lex Products (Shelton, Conn.): Nick Marsan’s role with Lex Products is changing as he takes on the position of inside sales rep  for the Central territory and Canada. He had been the inside sales rep for Lex Products’ Southern territory since July.  He takes over for Jack Hogarth, who was recently promoted to product manager for industrial and military products. Marsan  joined the Lex team in 2010 in the cable production department.  Prior to working at Lex he served in the Connecticut Army National Guard from 2004-2010.
