Electrical People: Civilight adds five lighting industry veterans

Electrical veteran John Salvadore launches distribution recruiting agency, and Nancy Collat Goedecke named among the influentials in Birmingham business.

Faith Technologies (Menasha, Wis.): This electrical contractor recently promoted Greg Vanevenhoven to V.P. of Preconstruction - Industrial. In his new role, Vanevenhoven will identify, develop and close profitable project opportunities by providing value-added technical pricing and design solutions. Vanevenhoven joined Faith Technologies in 2010 and, prior to his most recent promotion, has held roles such as project manager and senior project manager.

Holt Electrical Supplies (St. Louis): According to an item in Electrical Board of Missouri and Illinois’ Flash newsletter, Bob Watson has joined Holt as director of operations, and Dennis Bowers was hired as account manager. In other news, Holt Electrical Supplies opened a location at 1718 West Terra Lane, O’Fallon, Mo.

Global Recruiters Network (GRN) Coastal (Hopkinton, Mass.): Industry veteran John Salvadore launched this new business venture, a recruitment firm specializing in the distribution industry and focused on helping distributors and manufacturers in the electrical, automation, PVF and industrial trades find new talent. His company’s searches focus on management, field sales, marketing, channel, engineering and specialist roles. GRN Coastal is a part of Global Recruiters Network (GRN), Chicago, which has more than 200 offices worldwide and provides recruiting services in a wide variety of different industries. GRN Coastal will focus on the distribution industry. Salvadore has had executive posts with several manufacturers and distributors and organizations in the electrical market, including Eaton, All-Phase (now part of CED), Horizon Solutions, Affiliated Distributors, SourceAlliance.com and Vanguard National Alliance (VNA). Warshauer Electric Supply (Tinton Falls, N.J.): Fred Brutko has earned the Certified Electrical Professional for Insides Sales (CEP-IS) credential. He joins fellow Warshauer employee, Mike Zara, who earned his CEP-IS in March of 2012.

The National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) (Rosslyn, Va.): The association will honor three Kite & Key award winners during its annual meeting next month in San Diego. This year’s winners are Kevin Coderre, technical director at RSCC Wire & Cable; Pekka Hakkarainen, PhD, vice president of Lutron Electronics Co.; and Mike Leibowitz, program manager at NEMA. Coderre became involved with NEMA High Performance Wire and Cable Section in 1990. Dr. Hakkarainen has been involved in NEMA activities since the mid-1990s. His first chair position at NEMA was with the Lighting Controls Council from 2002 to 2004. He is the immediate past chair of the Lighting Systems Division, and currently chairs the High Performance Buildings Council and the Daylight Management Council. Leibowitz is the first NEMA staff person to be honored with a Kite & Key award. Since becoming a program manager in 1991, he has led the building wire and cable, conduit fittings, flexible cord, magnet wire, and outlet box industries in meeting their technical and product standardization objectives.

Civilight (Cary, N.C.): The company has appointed five new lighting industry veterans to sales and marketing positions. Dennis Picklesimer is now V.P. of sales and will report directly to Jeffrey Lagaly, the company’s CEO.  He brings more than 30 years of experience in the electrical and lighting industries. To lead Civilight North America’s marketing efforts, Sharon Katz has joined the company as director of marketing. She will also report to Lagaly.

The company also appointed three new regional managers. Michael Goldberg now serves as Civilight’s Northeast regional sales manager, where he will lead the company’s efforts to establish a sales force through independent lighting sales representatives from Ohio, West Virginia and Maryland, up through Maine, and in eastern Canada from Toronto to Nova Scotia.

Bennie Pierce, Jr. is the company’s new Southeast regional sales manager. Pierce will utilize his 15-plus years of sales management experience to plan and execute strategic sales and marketing plans throughout the southeast, from Virginia, Kentucky and Oklahoma and south to Florida.

To serve the western United States and Canada, Civilight has appointed Preston Matthews to Western Regional sales manager. He will establish the company’s brand presence from Texas to California and north to Washington and Idaho, and throughout western Canada.

Universal Lighting Technologies (Nashville, Tenn.): Lena Arnold recently joined the company as a regional sales manager for their Southwest territory. She has more than a decade of experience in manufacturer representation and business management, as well as marketing and product development for local, regional and national markets both in the United States and internationally. In her new role Arnold will be part of the Southwest sales team  and work jointly with Terry Schofield, an experienced Universal sales veteran. Due to the growth of the Southwest territory, these two Universal RSMs will make up the Southwest sales team responsible for supporting the agents and distributors in this region.

Mayer Electric Supply (Birmingham, Ala): Nancy Collat Goedecke CEO and chairman, was recently honored in the Birmingham Business Journal as one of Birmingham’s Most Influential Executives.  She is leading Mayer’s strategic growth plan to have $1 billion in sales revenue by the year 2017. Since 2012, Mayer has established new branches in Dallas, Houston, Charlottesville, Va., and Augusta, Ga.
