Electrical People: Henning to lead SE sales for Burndy

Hennings will lead the Southeast region sales team which includes Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, Tennessee and Puerto Rico. He will lead both the commercial & industrial and utility sales force in this territory. Also important personnel moves at Appleton, JMC Steel, NAW and Nora Lighting.

Appleton Group LLC (Rosemont, Ill.):  Victor Hoang was recently appointed director, global project operations.  In this new role, Hoang will lead a team of project managers, proposal managers, engineers and administrators responsible for the execution of large customer projects. This new cross-functional organization will be focused on building a robust business platform that delivers value to Appleton Group customers deploying major electrical construction projects throughout the world.

Hoang joined Emerson in August 2014 to support project management as part of the Appleton Group Perf(x) team. Prior to working at Emerson, he held positions in project management, project sales, engineering and operations management, and product line management with companies such as Eaton Crouse-Hinds, Honeywell Analytics, Draeger Safety, and Yokogawa Corporation of America. He has a BA in electrical engineering from the University of Houston.

Burndy (Manchester, N.H.): The company has promoted Mike Hennings to Southeast regional sales manager from his previous position as a field sales rep in South Florida. He reports to Warren Jenkins, V.P. of sales and marketing and assumed his new role on Feb. 1. Hennings will lead the Southeast region sales team which includes Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, Tennessee and Puerto Rico. He will lead both the commercial & industrial and utility sales force in this territory.

Before joining Burndy, Hennings was an account manager with CED in Baton Rouge. He managed a diverse customer base and delivered strong results. He has a BS in psychology from the University of Florida-Gainesville and participated in the clinical Psychology Doctoral Graduate Program at Louisiana State University-Baton Rouge.

JMC Steel Group (Chicago): Jelani Rucker has been promoted to V.P. of marketing and business development and Jeff Shulman is now V.P. of logistics. Rucker has served as JMC’s director of marketing and business development for over eight years. He will continue to be responsible for developing and managing marketing initiatives across the company’s entire product portfolio, as well as developing new business opportunities and strategic relationships with companies in current and emerging markets. He holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical and computer engineering and a master’s degree in technical management, both from Johns Hopkins University. Shulman has been in a logistics role at JMC for more than nine years. With his promotion, he is now responsible for the development and implementation of logistics strategy with JMC’s key carriers. Shulman possesses an honors bachelor’s degree in communications from McMaster University. JMC Steel Group is the parent company for Atlas Tube, Picoma, Energex Tube, Sharon Tube and Wheatland Tube.

National Association of Wholesaler Distributors (NAW), (Washington, D.C.): During NAW’s Executive Summit in Washington, D.C., last week, Manuel Perez de la Mesa, president and CEO of Poolcorp, Covington, La., was elected chairman by the association’s board of directors. He succeeds Dan Blaylock, president of Adams-Burch Inc., Landover, Md. Also elected as NAW Officers for 2015 were: Chairman-Elect - Richard Schwartz, WinWholesale Inc., Dayton, Ohio; First Vice Chairman - John Tracy, Dot Foods Inc., Chesterfield, Mo.; Second Vice Chairman - Joseph Nettemeyer, Valin Corp., San Jose, Calif.; Secretary - George Pattee, Parksite Inc., Batavia, Ill.; and Dirk Van Dongen, NAW’s president.

Nora Lighting (Commerce, Calif.): Kevin Brummett has recently joined the Nora Lighting customer service/technical support team. With more than 30 years of experience in the lighting industry, Brummett will liaison with commercial, industrial and residential lighting designers and installers, providing technical information and project assistance. He has worked as a sales account executive and manager for electrical distribution firms, lighting manufacturers and lighting maintenance companies, including CJM Lighting Services, CW Cole Lighting, Courtesy Wholesale Electric and Bell Wholesale Electric.
