NorthEast Electrical Distributors (Brockton, Massachusetts): Frank Marandino, current COO of NorthEast, will be taking on a new role as president of the company. He has spent over 15 years in various leadership roles at NorthEast, and has served as the COO for the past 20 months. Don Block, who has served as president of NorthEast for the past 11 years, will continue in his role as president of Sonepar USA’s New England-Mid Atlantic region.
IEWC (Milwaukee, Wis.): Lanny Million has been appointed senior V.P., strategic global sourcing and business development. In his new role, he will manage strategic development of supplier relationships within three distinct regions; the Americas, Europe and Asia. Matt Herbers, director of business development, is the first member of what will be a three-person team reporting to Million. The remaining two positions will be secured from Europe and Asia, and will be announced at a later date. The promotion is effective immediately. Million will be working out of IEWC’s corporate office in New Berlin, Wis., and will report directly to Jim Wojan, IEWC’s COO.
Craig Kaczynski, global sourcing director, and Mike Heard, global materials management and logistics director, will continue to play an important day-to-day role in procurement and they will round out the leadership of those respective activities, both reporting to Claire Simard-Graham, IEWC’s chief supply chain officer.
Irby/Sonepar (Jackson, Miss.): Tyler Mitchell, the current V.P. of sales for Codale Electric, will be taking on a new role as senior V.P. of C&I Sales for Irby. He has spent seven years in various roles at Codale Electric in Salt Lake City, and has been the V.P. of sales for the past three years.
Border States Electric (BSE) (Fargo, N.D.): BSE has named Scott Dugger branch manager in Abilene, Texas. Dugger has worked in the electrical business since Sept. 1982, when he was still in high school. He has worked in varied positions, from the warehouse to driving truck to purchasing and sales, and has been branch manager in San Angelo, Texas, since 2007. He added Abilene to his duty roster in March.
In other news at the company, Nick Longfors was named financial planning and analysis manager. He has been employed with BSE for 14 years and most recently was a financial planning and analysis supervisor. Longfors began his career with BSE in 2002 after graduating from Minnesota State University Moorhead with a major in accounting and a minor in finance. He earned his MBA in 2010 from the University of Mary and he worked in the accounting group for nine years.
Omni Cable (West Chester, Pa.): Omni Cable recently announced the promotion of Justin Wolf to Denver regional manager where he will be responsible for the strategic growth and development of the company’s Rocky Mountain Region. Wolf joined Omni Cable as an account manager in 2010. Prior to his promotion, he served as sales manager for the Denver branch. He earned his bachelor’s degree in industrial distribution from Texas A&M University and a master’s degree from the University of Denver.
Electrical Apparatus Service Association (EASA) (St. Louis, Mo.): EASA recently announced new international officers for the 2016-2017 administrative year: Chairman of the Board: Jim Smith, Advanced Electric Equipment, La Crosse, Wis.; Vice-Chairman: Lenwood Ireland, Ireland Electric, Virginia Beach, Va.; and Secretary/Treasurer: Gary Byars, Heavy Machines Inc., Memphis, Tenn. Serving on EASA’s executive committee with these officers are Immediate Past Chairman Michael Dupuis, Morrish Electro Mechanical, Windsor, Ontario; Tim Bieber, of D-Electric Inc., Quakertown, Pa.; and Brian Larry, Larry Electric Motor Services, Ltd., Peterborough, Ontario, Canada.
The Electrical Apparatus Service Association (EASA) is an international trade association with approximately 2,000 electromechanical sales and service firms in 59 countries. EASA keeps members current on materials, equipment and state-of-the-art technology related to sales, service and maintenance of motors, generators, drives, controls, pumps and other electromechanical equipment.
Elemental LED (Emeryville, Calif.): Steve Gensler was appointed head of the Engineering and Technology department at Elemental LED. Elemental LED and its manufacturing and wholesale division, Diode LED, provides a wide variety of linear, task, and accent LED lighting solutions for both commercial and residential applications.
Gensler has held several senior leadership roles at Nanosys, InVisage Technologies, Texas Instruments, Reflectivity, Novellus Systems and Alameda Applied Sciences. Gensler has a Ph.D. in physics from the University of Chicago.
