Electrical People: New faces and promotions at Leviton, Greenlee, FLIR and Houston Wire

Morgan hired as the director of product management for Leviton's Security & Automation business unit; Porter named senior account manager at Houston Wire; Harwood named VP, CIO, at Greenlee; and new promotions at FLIR.

Leviton (Melville, N.Y.): Thomas Morgan has been hired as the director of product management for the Security & Automation business unit. In his new role, Morgan will help manage Leviton’s smart, integrated products, including the Vizia RF+ Z-Wave product family. Prior to joining Leviton, Morgan spent the past 13 years as the chief technical officer for Worthington Distribution and the V.P. of Worthington University.  He also worked for 10 years in security and automation manufacturing with Home Automation Inc. and Apex.

Houston Wire & Cable Co. (Houston): Rusty Porter is now senior account manager and is covering the Southeast United States. He has more than 30 years of experience in the wire and cable industry.

Greenlee (Rockford, Ill.): The company has appointed Nathan Harwood as V.P. & CIO – information technology. He recently worked for Cessna Aircraft in Wichita, Kan., as director of information technology – SAP and integrated supply chain. Prior to Textron, Harwood worked for Nissan Americas where he held the position of director, information technology – applications. He has a BA in business administration from Trevecca Nazarene University.

FLIR Commercial Systems (Wilsonville, Ore.): FLIR recently announced several appointments to its management team. Patrick Elliott has joined FLIR Commercial Systems as the new distribution development manager responsible for the South Region; Paul Alger is strategic account manager – Electrical; and Jim Huekels is distribution development manager.

Elliott’s experience is in channel management and instrumentation and in his last job he helped build Ideal Industries’ Test and Measurement division. He was also with Fluke for 25 years in direct sales and distribution channel management.

Alger has 26 years of sales and marketing experience in managing the electrical distribution channel functions. He previously worked for Ideal, Greenlee/Textron, Cooper Industries and Ford Motor Credit and has degrees from Northern Illinois University, University of Wisconsin and University de Paris – Sorbonne.

Huekels is responsible for developing distribution relationships and channel strategy for the Central Region for FLIR Systems.  He has 20 years of sales experience in managing the electrical/industrial distribution channels including positions as national account manager at Panduit (most recent); regional sales manager at Emerson Professional Tools and multiple sales roles at Ideal Industries including key account and district sales manager. He has a BA degree from the University of Iowa.
