Electrical People: New president at Power/mation

Jay Dienst has been named president of Power/mation a distributor of high-tech industrial automation solutions with locations in Iowa, Illinois, Michigan, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wisconsin.

Power/mation (St. Paul, Minn.): Jay Dienst has been named president of Power/mation a distributor of high-tech industrial automation solutions with locations in Iowa, Illinois, Michigan, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wisconsin. Dienst comes to Power/mation from Wilson Tool International where he held the position of V.P. sales - Americas and Pacific Rim. Prior to this role, he was the executive director of U.S. sales and marketing for Imation Corp. and various sales leadership positions with NCR Corp. He received his B.B.A. with an emphasis in finance from the University of Iowa.

HD Supply Power Solutions (Atlanta): Mark Sommers has been promoted to V.P. of category management. Sommers joined HD Supply Power Solutions in 2012, where he led the company’s East Region Public Power sales team.  Prior to HD Supply, Sommers worked for Crescent Electric Supply for eight years as vice president of the Eastern Region.  Prior to Crescent Electric, he held a 20-year career with GE, with roles including general manager of GE Supply’s Northeast Ohio District and vice president of sourcing and inventory management.  He is a graduate of GE’s Financial Management Program and earned a BA from University of Notre Dame.

Group CBS, Inc. (Addison, Texas): John Namnoum is now general manager of the group’s newest affiliate, Circuit Breaker Sales NE Inc., Seymour, Conn. At his last position as a financial manager for a manufacturer of electrical distribution equipment, Namnoum instituted a new job-costing system that improved service delivery and productivity while reducing change orders; initiated the company’s first comprehensive employee review process; and reduced customer returns and improved billing transparency, which reduced outstanding commitments by 20%.

Electrical Apparatus Service Association (EASA) (St. Louis): This trade association for 2,000 electromechanical sales and service firms honored Robert Sandman as its 2014 recipient of the EASA Exceptional Achievement Service Award. Sandman won the award for his lifetime of service to the electrical apparatus and service industry.

Allied Wire & Cable (Collegeville, Pa.):  Ann Marie Denero has joined the company as a sales rep.  Most recently having served as branch manager for Anixter’s Rochester, N.Y., location, Denero’s 33 years of product knowledge and experience will be help Allied expand its sales presence into upstate New York and the northeastern United States. Denero started her career in the wire and cable industry at Simcona Electronics, where she devoted 22 years to purchasing, sales, and inventory work.  Most recently, Denero worked as the branch manager of Anixter Wire & Cable in Rochester, New York, for 11 years where she gained knowledge about leading a team of her own.
