Electrical People: Scheu to lead acquisition integration for ABB in North America; Aldana to lead Yokogawa Canada and more

ABB (Zurich, Switzerland): Greg Scheu, currently responsible for marketing and customer solutions (MC) on the company’s executive committee (EC), will lead the Group’s acquisition integration efforts and take over responsibility for North America, including the United States, ABB’s largest geographical market. Scheu will retain responsibility for ABB’s service business, while the remaining activities of MC will be further developed by other members of the EC. All changes were effective Nov. 1.

Scheu joined ABB in 2001 and has 29 years of experience in the power and automation industry, with a strong focus on North America. He previously worked for Rockwell Automation and Westinghouse Electric.  In other news at ABB, Enrique Santacana, currently country manager in the U.S. and regional manager in both the North and South America regions, will focus on profitable growth in South America.

Burndy (Manchester, N.H.): Vance Smith has joined the company’s U.S. sales organization as the South Central regional sales manager. He joined the team Sept. 16 and reports to Warren Jenkins, V.P. sales and marketing. Smith will be responsible for leading the South Central Region CM&R sales force. He comes to Burndy from Rockwell Automation, where he served as channel manager-Gulf Coast Region. Previously, Smith worked at Panduit for five years in numerous sales roles, including manager of strategic accounts and territory manager. He has a BS in agricultural development from Texas A&M University.

Yokogawa Electric Corp. (Newnan, Ga.): This automation and control manufacturer named Rene Aldana to be managing director of Yokogawa Canada Inc. Aldana will be responsible for overseeing all Yokogawa business operations in Canada. Aldana has close to 20 years of experience in automation solutions for the oil and gas industry and has a B.S. in computer science from Simon Fraser University in British Columbia, and an executive MBA in 2008 via Instituto de Empresa in Madrid, Spain. He will report to Yokogawa Corporation America President Chet Mroz.

Border States Electric (Fargo, N.D.):  Adam Guderian is now senior IT applications manager. Guderian will provide leadership and direction in the management of IT enterprise applications, digital applications, and development as well as setting technology direction in software and portal applications and development.  Guderian has over 10 years of IT experience, most recently with Doosan as the supply chain systems manager. He has master’s degrees in business administration and industrial and system engineering.

Ideal Industries Inc. (Sycamore, Ill.) : Dorothy Heckle  was appointed channel marketing manager. Heckle joins Ideal after eight years with Newell Rubbermaid and will be responsible for developing and facilitating channel-specific marketing programs to drive growth within the Ideal distribution network, as well as to oversee advertising, publicity, social media and website initiatives. During her time at Newell Rubbermaid she progressed through roles as brand manager, global brand manager and senior channel manager.
