NEMA’s Electroindustry Business Conditions Index (EBCI) for current conditions in North America was unchanged in June at 50.

NEMA’s Electroindustry Business Conditions Index (EBCI) for current conditions in North America was unchanged in June at 50, a value that is just below the threshold for conditions typically associated with an environment conducive to business expansion.

The share of respondents reporting conditions improved and deteriorated both rose slightly to 25% from 24% in May. Half of the respondents indicated that conditions were unchanged from May. The EBCI Index is a monthly survey of senior executives at electrical manufacturers published by the National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA), Rosslyn, Va. Any score over the 50-point level indicates an equal number of panelists see conditions improving as see them deteriorating.
