The fax machine lives on in Japan

Fax machines are still very much alive, well and play an integral role in the Japanese business world.

Remember your first fax? C'mon now -- admit your fascination. Those of us of a certain age remember hearing that first electronic alert, dutifully leaving our desks, circling around the new electronic wonder with co-workers, and staring at a glossy sheet of paper as it chugged, lurched and grinded out of the fax machine.

I didn't realize that fax machines are still very much alive, well and play an integral role in the Japanese business world. Check out this New York Times report.
