Electrical Marketing's Electrical Price Index (EPI) remained the same for March. The index posted price gains in eight categories and decreases in nine; 11 product categories held steady this month.

Building wire (+1.0 percent) posted the biggest gain. Circuit breakers (-2.2 percent) posted the biggest decline, followed by panelboards and switches and power wire and cable (both -1.4 percent).

Note: All EPI series represent DRI/WEFA aggregates of Bureau of Labor Statistics' (BLS) producer price indices (PPIs). The revised data partly reflect redefinitions of specific PPIs by the BLS, but mostly reflect the rebenchmarking of all EPI price series to a 1997 base year. The four following EPI series have been affected by BLS redefinitions: boxes, conduit (fittings), nonmetallic conduit, and generators.
