Grainger Promotes Carruthers to President, Grainger International

Court Carruthers has been named to a newly created position as president of Grainger's international businesses in Canada (Acklands-Grainger Inc.), Mexico (Grainger S.A. de C.V.), and China.

Grainger (Chicago): Court Carruthers has been named to a newly created position as president of Grainger's international businesses in Canada (Acklands-Grainger Inc.), Mexico (Grainger S.A. de C.V.), and China. Carruthers' new responsibilities include growing and improving Grainger's international business operations, which had sales of more than $800 million in 2008. Carruthers joined Acklands-Grainger in 2002 as vice president, national accounts and sales, where he has been responsible for the company's sales strategy and operations. He was promoted to his current position in 2006, and successfully grew sales at the Canadian business by almost 30 percent and operating earnings by more than 250 percent.
