John Appleton Dies

John Appleton, former president of Appleton Electric/EGS and son of Arthur Appleton, also a former Appleton Electric president, died April 30 as a result of a sky diving accident near Dallas.

John Appleton, former president of Appleton Electric/EGS and son of Arthur Appleton, also a former Appleton Electric president, died April 30 as a result of a sky diving accident near Dallas.

The Appleton family founded and managed Appleton Electric until its sale to Emerson in 1993.

John was a regional sales manager for Appleton Electric for many years. After John’s father, Arthur, stepped down from president of Appleton Electric, John was appointed president for a year after the Emerson acquisition.

John was 55 years old and is survived by his wife, Deborah of 31 years, and three adult children, Stephen (wife Monece), Tracy and Katherine.
