To increase its market share in South Carolina, Shealy Electrical Wholesalers Inc., Columbia, S.C., acquired Santee Electric Supply, a distributor of electrical supplies for the industrial, construction, commercial, OEM and MRO markets throughout South Carolina.
Shealy Electrical has seven locations and 150 associates. Santee Electric had two locations in Sumter and Florence, S.C., and 13 associates.
Santee Electric Supply will now operate as Shealy Electrical Wholesalers. Its two locations will be incorporated into Shealy Electrical Wholesalers' locations in Sumter and Florence, according to Bill DeLoache, president of Shealy Electrical Wholesalers.
Terry Weaver, who was a partial owner of Santee Electric and served as Santee's president, will be the area business manager for the Sumter and Florence locations. He founded Santee in 1987 and has more than 30 years of experience in the electrical industry.
Shealy Electrical Wholesalers said the acquisition does not give it access to any new geographic areas since it already has locations in Sumter and Florence. The company provides electrical components and solutions for the industrial, construction, utility, OEM, MRO and automation markets throughout North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia.
Shealy Electrical Wholesalers is ranked the nation's 97th largest electrical distributor, according to Electrical Wholesaling's Top 200 listing. The company has locations in South Carolina in Charleston, Columbia, Florence, Greenville, Greenwood, North Augusta and Sumter. Shealy has served the South Carolina market for 64 years. The company is also involved in the export market through its CTI subsidiary.
