Vincent A. Rego, chairman emeritus, Encore Wire Corp., McKinney, Texas, passed away on Oct. 7. He was born in Rhode Island and served in the 101st Airborne Division in World War II, including the battles at Normandy and Bastogne. Rego started his career in the wire business in 1951 and co-founded Encore Wire in 1989. Said Daniel Jones, Encore Wire’s president and CEO, “Mr. Rego’s extraordinary contributions to our company and to the predecessor wire and cable companies he founded and managed since the 1960s are too numerous to recount. His contributions to our company over the years and his strategic vision and innovation have been invaluable in building Encore Wire into one of the nation’s premier manufacturers of electrical wire and cable products.” Funeral arrangements are pending.
