Springfield Electric Supply Co., Springfield, Ill., is starting up a new satellite branch in Carbondale, Ill., its 12th location.
The new facility is being added to develop new business and to further improve service levels to customers in southern Illinois, the company said. Springfield Electric already has many active accounts in this area being serviced out of its Mt. Vernon operation. The Carbondale warehouse will offer local inventory and services, including a local sales office with a contractor counter and a daily delivery schedule. A building has been purchased and staffing requirements are being identified. The warehouse will be managed by Ryan Grothoff, who will transfer from his current assignment in the company’s Mt. Vernon operation. Additional support will be provided by Springfield Electric’s Mt. Vernon facility, and Mt. Vernon branch manager Chris Scarbrough will oversee the operation.
