Fairmont Supply Co., Canonsburg, Pa., a U.S. distributor of industrial maintenance, repair and operating supplies, plans to acquire the Calumet Distribution Group (CDG) located in Burns Harbor, Ind. Calumet Distribution Group is a regional industry leader of industrial mill supplies across the Midwest.
Fairmont Supply Co. expects the acquisition to be finalized in early January 2006. No other terms of the agreement have been disclosed.
The president of Fairmont Supply Co., Rich Layton, said, "This acquisition supports our longterm business plan to strategically grow within key industrial markets throughout the United States. Calumet Distribution Group has provided their customers with an excellent product offering and a high level of service from an experienced sales group. We look forward to combining our efforts to develop additional business in this market."
Fairmont Supply currently operates 15 service center facilities and an additional nine on-site stores across the United States. In addition to the steel and industrial markets, Fairmont also serves customers in the mining, aluminum, gas, utilities, paper, glass, plastic, chemical, and automotive industries.
Fairmont Supply offers more than 100,000 products from over 500 manufacturers. Major product areas include mining, safety, hose products, conveyor and material handling, bearings and power transmission, electrical, pipe, valves, and fittings, as well as a wide variety of general line industrial supply products.
