NESCO (Needham Electric Supply Corp.), Canton, Mass., has expanded its national accounts division with the acquisition of Erik Lighting of Mount Vernon, N.Y. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
Erik Lighting will be part of NESCO’s national accounts division, which provides solutions for retailers and commercial accounts across the country as well as internationally.
The union of the companies will provide national retail customers with light fixtures, lamps, ballasts, switchgear and security solutions for new construction, remodels and renovation work in addition to full re-lamping and maintenance programs for existing stores. The company will now have offices in Boston, San Francisco and New York.
Erik has provided light bulbs, ballasts, store maintenance services and other offerings to both national retailers and New York area commercial accounts for close to 25 years.
NESCO was founded in October of 1958 by Frank Cincotta and John Rando. The company is now run by a second generation of the Cincotta family. In addition to its national accounts business, it serves the local construction, commercial, institutional and industrial markets with a branch network that supplies coverage to all New England states.
The continued expansion supports a strategy to enhance NESCO’s complete electrical offering with additional national coverage. In August 1999, NESCO acquired Benjamin Electric Supply Co. in Worcester and Fitchburg, Mass., and in November 1999, NESCO acquired Lasden Electric Supply in Canton, Mass. The Worcester location also includes a retail lighting showroom.
The company will now have national accounts offices in Boston, San Francisco and New York.
