US Electrical Services LLC, Exton, Pa., plans to acquire Hampden/Zimmerman Electric Supply Co., Springfield, Mass. At press time, the transaction was expected to close this month.
With three locations in central and western Massachusetts, Hampden/Zimmerman has been serving the needs of electricians and contractors since the 1930s. In 1972, current owner Robert (Toby) Sanborn purchased Hampden Electric Supply and over the years added M. W. Zimmerman Electric Supply and Bland Electric Supply to his business. The company has more than 80 employees.
USESI recently bought Danlar Lighting, Conyers, Ga., which has 20 employees and approximately $20 million in sales and Lade Electric Supply, Tucker, Ga., which has been serving the greater Atlanta market for 30-plus years. Lade and Danlar will operate as one company. The acquisition of these companies will help to establish USESI in the southeastern United States, according to Richard Worthy, president and CEO of USESI.
USESI also owns Duplex Electrical, Port Washington, N.Y.; Electrical Wholesalers Inc., Hartford, Conn.; Fox Electric Supply, Philadelphia; Monarch Electric Co., West Caldwell, N.J., and Wiedenbach-Brown Co. Inc., Westchester County, N.Y.
