AD-IMARK Finalize Merger
Needham Electric Supply (NESCO), Canton, Mass., has been on a growth tear over the past few years, expanding its footprint in New England through organic branch openings and bolt-on acquisitions of smaller distributors throughout the region.
NESCO over the past week added to its network both ways with announcements this week of a new branch in New Hampshire, followed by the acquisition of single-loation GTM Electric Supply in St. Albans, Vt.
NESCO’s new Hudson, N.H., location at 13 Hampshire Drive is a full-service branch including a 1,500-square-foot counter area and a 5,000-square-foot warehouse. Hudson is NESCO’s ninth location in New Hampshire.
Walter Mycroft, who joined Needham Electric last October and has more than 20 years of experience in the industry, has been named district manager. He will manage the day-to-day sales and operations as well as expanding the company’s presence in southern New Hampshire.
“Southern New Hampshire is a target growth area for us, so we are very excited to open our new branch and to have someone of Walter’s caliber and years of experience leading our efforts in this region,” said Gregory Wilson, president of Needham Electric Supply, in a press release. “Customers will have access to our expert lighting and switchgear projects group, $12 million in inventory at our distribution center, 24-hour emergency services, and a fleet of 10 trucks as well as vans at branch locations for local deliveries.”
NESCO’s announcement that it has acquired the assets of GTM Electric Supply brings the company’s totals to six locations in Vermont and 26 branches throughout New England. The GTM Electric location will operate as Needham Electric Supply but will continue to be run by GTM Electric founder Mark Bourbeau as branch manager. Bourbeau started GTM in 1991, serving primarily residential and commercial contractors in Northern Vermont.
“We are pleased to welcome GTM Electric Supply to the Needham Electric team and look forward to working with Mark to expand and strengthen our presence in Vermont,” said Wilson. “The merger will benefit GTM customers by providing greater access to the resources of a larger organization, including $12 million in inventory in our regional distribution center, a fleet of 10 trucks and 24-hour emergency services.”
