Buckles-Smith buys San Francisco’s Plough Electric

Buckles-Smith, San Jose., Calif., has acquired Plough Electric Supply, San Francisco.

Buckles-Smith, San Jose., Calif., has acquired Plough Electric Supply, San Francisco. Buckles-Smith will initially operate Plough’s San Francisco service center as Plough Electric Supply, a Buckles-Smith company. Both companies were founded in 1939 and serve industrial customers in Northern California.

The company said in release announcing the acquisition, “It is our intent to build on the strength and relationships Plough has established with its customers with the full support and resources available from Buckles-Smith. Through all of the noise of national chains and foreign consolidators, this acquisition builds on our vision to be the best source for electrical supplies for our customers in Northern California.

“The acquisition strengthens Buckles-Smith’s position as the leading independent distributor in Northern California serving the industrial OEM, end user markets, and gives Buckles-Smith a much desired physical presence in San Francisco.”

Buckles-Smith was ranked #149 on Electrical Wholesaling’s 2012 Top 200 listing with $41 million in sales. The company has branches in Concord, Livermore, Palo Alto, Sacramento, San Francisco, San Jose, Salinas and Stockton, Calif.
