Moving to further strengthen its hand in the Rocky Mountains, following the acquisition of Codale Electric, Salt Lake City, in 2012, Sonepar USA, a subsidiary of the privately held Sonepar Group, Paris, announced that Denver-based Quality Electrical Distribution (QED), one of the nation’s largest wholesalers of electrical supplies, has signed an agreement to join Sonepar USA.

Founded in 1987 by Dean Stauffer, QED is a regional electrical distributor serving residential and commercial contractors, industrial facilities and OEM businesses from 13 locations in North Dakota, Arizona, Colorado, Nevada, Utah and Wyoming.

In terms of 2014 revenues from electrical distribution, QED ranked #45 on Electrical Wholesaling’s Top 200.

QED is known for its merchandising and counter facilities and innovations in value-added services to its customers. The addition of QED expands Sonepar USA’s geographic footprint and strengthens its position in the region, the company said in a release.

Dave Dahl was named president of QED.
