MSC Industrial to Offer Schneider Electric’s Lines Including Square D Nationwide

Feb. 12, 2016
MSC customers in the United States gain access to access to more than 50,000 electrical products marketed under the Square D, Schneider Electric and Telemecanique brand names.

Online industrial MRO supplier MSC Industrial Supply Co., Melville, N.Y., scored a significant partnership in the electrical market with a deal to offer the full suite of Schneider Electric, Square D and Telemecanique products through its online storefront.

MSC customers in  the United States gain access to access to more than 50,000 electrical products marketed under the Square D, Schneider Electric and Telemecanique brand names. Square D is Schneider Electric’s flagship brand in North America. The MSC-Schneider Electric relationship represents one of the largest Square D product offerings available to industrial customers through mscdirect.com.

“MSC has relationships with thousands of customers who trust MSC to save them time, money and improve their operations,” said Terry Deboodt, national account manager for Schneider Electric. “Those longstanding relationships, combined with MSC’s world-class e-commerce site and reliable service and delivery, make MSC a natural fit to represent Square D, Schneider Electric and Telemecanique products.”

MSC Industrial has been a strong contender in the industrial maintenance, repair and operations (MRO) supply e-commerce space, ranking within the top 50 on lists of business-to-business e-commerce platforms for years. That category is dominated by W.W. Grainger, which is no stranger to MSC, having been the company’s biggest rival since back in the printed catalog days. MSC’s core focus has been the metalworking market but the deal with Schneider is perhaps the biggest indicator that it’s interested in growth in related verticals such as electrical. The MSC storefront, mscdirect.com, carries a wide range of MRO supplies and is backed by a network of 104 branches and four distribution centers in the U.S.
