AD-IMARK Finalize Merger
David Gordon of Channel Marketing Group has a thought-provoking post up on the ElectricalTrends blog about the possible implications of Google’s acquisition of Nest Labs, which makes smart thermostats and detectors for smoke and carbon monoxide. Gordon suggests this acquisition of an innovative manufacturer in the old-school HVAC market could lead Google toward the electrical market’s manufacturing end, specifically in network-enabled devices and control systems. He specifically speculates on how companies such as Lutron and Leviton, or any number of LED lighting companies, could be attractive additions to a play focused on the networked, “Internet of things” future of residential and commercial buildings.
