Reynolds Co. Acquires Flow-Zone, a PVF Supplier for the Texas-New Mexico Oil Fields

Feb. 20, 2020
The acquisition gives Reynolds enhanced coverage in key oil & gas basins.

Reynolds Co., Fort Worth, TX, a wholly-owned subsidiary of McNaughton-McKay Electric Co., Madison Heights, MI, has acquired Houston-based Flow-Zone, a distributor of pipe, valves, fittings, instrumentation, controls and measurement equipment for the oil and gas industries throughout Texas and New Mexico.

Serving the oil and gas industry’s upstream, midstream and downstream markets for more than 20 years, Flow-Zone operates from seven locations in Texas’ Permian Basin, Delaware Basin and Eagle Ford Shale.

According to the press release announcing the acquisition, The Reynolds Co. acquisition of Flow-Zone “provides significant geographic expansion, a highly aligned portfolio of products and an unwavering commitment to quality.

“Flow-Zone becomes an operating unit of The Reynolds Co., with all seven locations continuing to serve customers ‘business as usual’ under the established Flow-Zone brand.”

“We have been looking at the PVF space for some time as a complementary market segment and are excited to give our customers a deeper and more diversified offering,” said David Dozier, executive VP of The Reynolds Co., in the press release. “This combination of products, services and solutions for electrical and PVF will help customers streamline their operations, enabling them to focus on what really matters — their business goals.”

“With the transaction now complete, we are pleased to formally welcome the associates from Flow-Zone, to our employee-owned company. The culture they have established over the last 20 years fits perfectly with The Reynolds Co., creating a great synergy” said Walt Reynolds, CEO of The Reynolds Co., in the press release. “The acquisition of Flow-Zone expands our footprint, adding logistical advantages as well as enhanced product and service capabilities for the oil and gas industry throughout Texas, Louisiana and New Mexico.”

McNaughton-McKay bought Reynolds in 2017, a deal that brought together two of the nation’s largest Rockwell Automation distributors. McNaughton-McKay is now ranked #8 on Electrical Wholesaling magazine’s most recent Top 200, with $1.49 billion in annual sales, 1,300 employees and 41 locations.
