A press release on the website of global wire and cable giant Nexans says it’s considering offers for its Berk-Tek business unit, which focuses on low-voltage cable for U.S. local area network applications and generates annual sales of approximately $200 million. The release said, “Following receipt of expressions of interest, Nexans is exploring the possibility of the sale of its Berk-Tek copper and fiber cable activity in the US.”
With a presence in 40 countries and commercial activities worldwide, Nexans, Paris, employs 25,000 people and had sales in 2011 of 7 billion euros (approximately US $9 billion). Details
