Legrand On a Roll: Acquires Network Equipment Manufacturer Luxul Wireless

The North American operations of Legrand, based in West Hartford, Conn., has announced its second acquisition in as many weeks, both of which expand its offerings into new markets. After adding an architectural lighting specialist last week, the company now has a definitive agreement to acquire Luxul Wireless, Inc., Draper, Utah, a networking provider for residential and small-to-medium business markets.

Luxul makes wireless controllers and access points, routers, range extenders and low-voltage switches including power-over-Ethernet (PoE) switches and injectors, sold to custom integrators of home control, audio/video and IP-based security solutions. The Luxul lines will join Legrand’s On-Q and Nuvo home networking systems to make a more complete solution.

“A great user experience starts with a great network and Luxul is #1 in their market. Their solutions will become an essential component of Legrand's On-Q and Nuvo home systems, as well as supporting countless other systems,” said John Selldorff, CEO, Legrand North & Central America. “This acquisition brings best-in-class network expertise to Legrand and leverages many channel synergies.”

Legrand in its release announcing the deal cited the “explosive growth of IoT devices and automated systems throughout residential and SMB markets creates great demand for Luxul high-performance networks.”

In the company’s boilerplate summary of its business, we noted this: “All Luxul products include free lifetime support, a three-year limited warranty and are available ONLY through industry-recognized distributors of residential and commercial integration products.”
