John Peterson joins EGS

July 16, 2003
EGS Electrical Group, Skokie, Ill., announced two key appointments to its Appleton and O-Z/Gedney sales and marketing team.

EGS Electrical Group, Skokie, Ill., announced two key appointments to its Appleton and O-Z/Gedney sales and marketing team. Tim Rooney was named vice president of sales with initial responsibility for the company¹s Central Region. He joins EGS with more than 25 years of electrical industry experience, most recently as vice president of national accounts for Cooper Industries. Following a transitional period, Rooney will assume responsibly for all national sales.

Named to the post of vice president of sales, Gulf Coast Region is John Peterson, a 15-year veteran of Cooper Industries and Crouse Hinds, as well as the former president of Warren Electric. Peterson's region is comprised of Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana, and Southern Mississippi, markets heavily involved in the production of petrochemicals and critical to the sale of Appleton and O-Z/Gedney hazardous location products.

We are fortunate to have these two world-class sales executives on the EGS team, said Monte Roach, vice president/general manager of EGS Electrical Group's ECM Division. They share our excitement in building upon the progress we've made over the past two years and the momentum we're continuing to create. With these appointments, we are strengthening our sales team for the long term."

The appointments mark the conclusion of a broad-based, multi-year sales organization re-alignment for EGS Electrical Group, one that adds value to its channel partners and end-users. As part of the re-alignment, for example, EGS has increased the number of its product specialists in the field by 50 percent.

Our goal remains constant to service our customers and markets better than anyone in our industry, said Paul McCool, vice president/general manager for EGS Electrical Group Hazardous Products. We have accomplished what we set out to do: Employ the best sales resources available in each geographic market, either direct sales or top-tier representatives, and simultaneously strengthen our national accounts team.
